OCTA
This type of insurance protects owners of land vehicles from financial consequences in case of damage to life, health or property of third parties as a result of an accident caused by the actions or inaction of the driver. The policy covers:

  • Damage to the health or life of third parties (e.g. medical expenses, disability compensation);
  • Damage to third party property (e.g. damage to other vehicles, buildings, road structures);
  • Expenses related to legal proceedings and legal defense.

This insurance is compulsory for vehicle owners and provides protection to both the driver and the injured, minimizing financial risks and providing compensation for damages.

What does the insurance cover?

  • Losses related to damage to the life or health of third parties, including expenses for medical treatment, temporary incapacity for work, loss of ability to work, as well as death and compensation for moral damage.
  • Losses related to damage to or destruction of third party property.
  • Expenses related to the prevention of sudden and unforeseen environmental pollution.

Under the Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance Act, up to EUR 5,210,000 is payable for damage to life or health and up to EUR 1,050,000 for damage to property.
